Minimally invasive surgery
A shoulder arthroscopy is a so-called minimally invasive surgical procedure, but requires a one-day hospital stay. Complications are very rare. Joint recovery is often quickly achieved.
Arthroscopy is performed using an arthroscope (tube fitted with a small camera) introduced via a small incision made beforehand.
The objective is both to explore a joint in order to determine the origin of the disorder, and to treat the lesions.
The advantage of a shoulder arthroscopy is that it requires only small incisions. Thus, the postoperative course is less painful, the scars practically invisible and the mobility of the joint is recovered more quickly.
